We will be launching this project in conjunction with Triple Base Gallery in San Francisco on Friday August 20, from 7:00-9:00PM.  For that night only, Suzanne will have her work on display, including the original poster.   And the Triple Base will have envelops available for you to stuff and mail (bring your own stamp).

SASE is an ongoing project of THE THING where we commission artists to produce posters that must fit within a standard envelope and are free and available to anyone who sends us a SASE.  Over the next year, we will announce three other SASE contributors.  This project is made possible by Southern Exposure's Alternative Exposure Grant and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

REWILDING WITH INTENTIONS."As temperatures increase, significant percentages of the Earth's species may become trapped--like fish out of water--in habitats that have become too hot, too dry, or too something else for them. They may therefore go extinct or lose genetically important segments of their populations. Such losses may disrupt large ecosystems and damage agricultural, cultural and economic systems."
Lily Whiteman, National Science Foundation
Based on that information, I'm asked composers, healers and shamans to create a healing or warning message for the critters and plants.
