Enhanced interrogation techniques, rough interrogation, the Central Intelligence Agency's interrogation methods, and alternatives set of procedures are terms adopted by the George W. Bush administration to describe methods of torture used to extract information from captives, which is purportedly necessary in the War on Terror.

"America's new million record Terrorist watch list is a perfect symbol for what's wrong with this administration's approach to security: it's unfair, out-of-control, a waste of resources, treats the rights of the innocent as an afterthought, and is a very real impediment in the lives of millions of travelers in this country, "said Barry Steinhardt, director of the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union)Technology and Liberty Program.

Torture is supposedly necessary on a war on terror and many innocent individuals have already been caught up by our government's bloated terrorist watch list, that means that numerous civilians are possibly exposed to "enhanced interrogation techniques."
